A Bit About Evelyn
Evelyn's story is woven together with a passion for sports and nature, originating from her upbringing in California, where competitive soccer and the great outdoors were her playground. Relocating to Colorado in the early 90s, she embraced the roles of wife and mother, cherishing the arrival of three children and expanding her family circle to include a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and two beloved grandchildren. For over two decades, Evelyn dedicated herself to the healing arts as a Neuromuscular Therapist (NMT), merging her nurturing nature with a deep understanding of the human body. Her thirst for knowledge led her to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, accomplished alongside her eldest son's high school graduation ... a testament to her unwavering pursuit of personal and professional growth. Most recently, Evelyn embarked on a transformative journey, completing training to become a Master Certified Professional Life Coach (MCPC). Armed with this new expertise, she aspires to empower others on their journey.

In 2019, Evelyn's life took an unexpected turn when she grappled with the effects of long-term benzodiazepine use, enduring a condition known as benzodiazepine induced neurological dysfunction (BIND). Over 23 years of taking Klonopin as prescribed resulted in a debilitating experience that left her struggling to walk, see, and speak. Enduring excruciating nerve pain and persistent ringing in her ears, she found herself facing a battle that challenged her will to carry on. However, from this deeply personal struggle emerged an unwavering commitment to survive and help others. Drawing from her own journey, Evelyn aims to shed light on the risks associated with benzodiazepines, seeking to prevent others from enduring the profound suffering she faced. Moreover, she's dedicated to guiding individuals through the arduous path of recovery, offering them hope and strength to triumph over adversity. At Benzo Nation, Evelyn stands ready to share her story, offering a relatable hand and encouragement for those facing similar challenges, helping them find their way to recovery and a life of resilience.
